The Mysterious Stranger

The Mysterious Stranger is thought to be an incarnation of the Devil, though it is never explicitly stated. He appears as a man holding a masquerade mask that changes form depending on who or what he is speaking with… He has the power to perform miracles, such as the disappearance of a castle, and the ability to make people invisible. He is quite philosophical and speaks of the futility of human existence. He also speaks at length about the inevitability of death and how people should accept their mortality and live life to the fullest. He is seen as a source of wisdom, while also being somewhat of a trickster. In the end, however, The Mysterious Stranger’s ultimate goal is to teach people the importance of embracing life and of not taking it for granted.!
