Cannibal

Cannibal aka Thomas Cottingham, once a man, became a monster, became a martyr, became a legend. Born to rage on the streets of Hellaware, this J5 alumnist earned a reputation as the bane of all emos and perpetrators who crossed his path here in the Underground. Trained by the OG’s in the ways of the party crasher, he was known to pop up unexpectedly at spots and shut shit down with his wild antics. What he lacked in stature was made up for in realness, rocking a skateboard, a hatchet and a microphone with equal effectiveness anywhere he went.

Cannibal was never one to shy away from a cypher, bringing beat box, freestyle and battle ability combined with an irate style that would come to define his presence at Philadelphia-area shows.

On September 14th, 2015, he was reunited with his Sawzaw brother Ricky Sparx in the afterlife following a noble act of self sacrifice. Cannibal now joins such other mythic personages as Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain as part of the infamous 27 Club. Cannibal, his life and his sacrifice have flowered outward to shape and inspire the same culture that embraced him, touching even its founding fathers.

Death is cessation. True to form, Cannibal has not stopped. He has only changed forms to carry on doing what he always has, and that’s be as gnarly as possible. Long Live The King of Bad Influence. Long Live Cannibal!
